#39 - Bailey Canyon (3A III)

05-30-2020

Sierra Madre, California

Bailey Canyon is EVERYONE'S first canyon. The approach is moderate with very straight forward anchors at each rappel (tree or bolts). Depending on how many rappels you downclimb, there are a total of 12 to 15 rappels with the longest rappel at 110 ft. The descent is 0.7 miles long and reconnects with the main approach trail. If the parking lot is full, street parking is allowed but be courteous to your neighbors.

Distance of the Approach: 3 miles

Elevation Gain: 1,280 ft.

Final Elevation: N/A

Directions to the Parking Lot and Trailhead: Use the following coordinates in Google Maps to route your directions to the parking lot. The trail is located on the left of the parking lot and follows through a turnstile. Make a right once you pass the turnstile and follow the paved road until you see signs for Bailey Canyon Trail.
